Dan Harrison

Dan grew up in Fayetteville.  He attended the University of North Carolina on a National Merit scholarship and graduated with Honors in 2004, double-majoring in Political Science and English.  In 2003, his paper on Hungarian accession into the European Union was named UNC’s most outstanding undergraduate paper in the field of international relations.   He attended UNC law and graduated in 2007.  There, he made the Dean’s List four consecutive semesters, served on the Holderness Moot Court and the Pro Bono Board, clerked for the Honorable Wade Barber, and coordinated a pro-bono trip to New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

After graduating from UNC Law, Dan joined the US Air Force Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps.  In approximately four years of active duty service he prosecuted numerous felony-level courts-martial and served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in Federal District Court for the districts of Eastern California and Colorado.  He also deployed to Iraq and Kuwait to lead a team in a search for documents responsive to a Freedom of Information Act request.  Along the way, he and his wife Kelly had a baby boy and enjoyed living in Denver and outside of Los Angeles.

Dan practices civil litigation, education law, and immigration law.  He is the University Counsel to Methodist University.  Outside the office, he enjoys his friends and family, skiing and other outdoor sports, college athletics, and North Carolina generally.
