Jim GoodmanJim has over 20 years experience in a wide range of business and corporate matters, and during such time he has represented large national and multinational corporations as well as individuals and small businesses. Additionally, Jim was twice the annual recipient of the Outstanding Volunteer Lawyer Award from the Volunteer Lawyers Project while practicing in Raleigh, North Carolina. Jim has been with the firm since 1996. The primary focus of Jim’s practice has been in the area of commercial litigation including matters involving real property disputes, foreclosure proceedings, condemnation, governmental regulation, employment issues, shareholder and partnership disputes, fraud and misrepresentation, and non-medical professional malpractice. Jim has also been involved in complex corporate and business transactions and has represented higher education institutions in various matters. Jim obtained his undergraduate degree in 1985 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Marvin B. Smith Scholar in Business Administration and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society. He obtained his law degree from UNC-CH in 1988. Jim has two sons and enjoys history, music, cooking and following the fortunes of North Carolina Tar Heel sports teams.
